I know what it means to have food and financial insecurities, I know what it means to have dreams and aspirations that seem unattainable. Yet, through diligence, a village of people and the help of Almighty God, I know what it means to step into a new, unfamiliar situation to serve people and engage in work that transforms people and cultures.

I Will Learn With You and For You

“Are we communicating?” As a professor I am always working to ensure the message reaches its recipients effectively and with the ability to learn from it and act on it. I will bring that same mentality to city government, starting now.

I Will Raise the Level of Transparency

I will ask questions and start conversations that remind people that we are all in this together, no matter our race, economic status, education level, etc. Those who will be affected by decisions need to be aptly informed about decisions in a way and with an expediency that showcases care for all people.

I Will Lean on the Wisdom of Local Experts

The best way for us to reach forward and make the difficult decisions needed to flourish is to bring informed experts to the table who share our love for Lakeland. Relationships aren’t a means to an end, they are the fuel for a better future.

From students aspiring toward careers and building families to people searching for meaning and purpose to being a proud father of four incredible children, my goal is to remove barriers for people to flourish and make decisions that use data, expertise and shared experiences to create a better future for more people.
