Hi, I’m Cedrick, and
I’m here to serve.
For more than a decade, I have served our community and led change in leadership roles at Southeastern University and Church for the One—entities that have made substantial contributions to our city. Now, I am prepared to take on the role of public servant as a mayor who listens to my constituents, reflects the ideals of our community and provides unhinged encouragement to businesses, families and individuals in a fashion that reminds us that we’re all in this together. It’s your future, after all.
About Cedrick Valrie

When I look at city government, I’m going to continue to ask the question: “What is it there for?” Once that is solidified, a mayor and the city commission can make decisions that align with the mission.
I will evaluate the entire budgeting and decision making process to determine what local, state and federal dollars and opportunities are available to provide solutions and determine where our energy and time is best spent to meet as many of the needs of the citizens of Lakeland as possible.
I will sit next to the people of Lakeland and consider them as family, instead of standing above them simply because of a title.
Here in Florida, we all know a hurricane is coming for days, maybe even weeks. Information is provided so people can make informed decisions. It should be the same with development, infrastructure, financial decisions, etc. I envision a city government that continues to be more transparent, is better at listening and is committed to learning along with the people it serves.

I Believe Every Person Deserves the Opportunity to Flourish
I want to bring along as many of you who are disengaged with or doubting city government as possible and educate you on the process so that our city reflects the character and priorities of its people.
I am not running for mayor because I have other political aspirations or because I like the aesthetics of it, but because I believe in providing every person the best opportunity to flourish and believe we can trek new ground together, no matter where we come from. A vote for me is a vote for a leader who will listen, learn and lead through tough decisions.
